In the case of this module the “url” pointer is to the BBC’s RSS feed. From this screenshot it is also possible to determine that the module is extremely simple to implement, as all the module requires is a “url” pointer to the RSS source.

Code for RSS News Feed Moduleįrom the screenshot above it is possible to see the code that is required to implement this module. Code for Clock Module Time & Date Module RRS News FeedĪgain, another module that was simple to implement without the need for excessive programming was the RSS News Feed module.

The module requires the following code to be implemented within the MM. Similar to the previous item this module is internal and does not require the user to include any specific code to utilise the clock system. Code for Calendar Module Calender Module Time The module requires module specific code to be entered into the “Config.js” file but unlike the previous module it does not require any special access to resources. This module was again simple to include within this MM as the module was an internally sourced module. Weather & Weather Forecast Module Calendar This code resulted in the following result. This code also defined the position of the modules and the heading of the modules. This API key allowed my modules to be able to request and receive weather updates automatically. This variable was the “appid”, this was a API key that was obtained from. The following screenshot shows the code that was required for the Weather & Weather Forecast Weather & Weather Forecast Codeįor these two modules there was one MAJOR variable that was required to ensure that the modules could retrieve weather data. The module required module specific code to be added to the “Config.js” file – that the MM reads to load the correct modules on the system.
Installing magic mirror modules install#
This module was quiet simple to install as it was an internally sourced module. Each of these modules and how they were implemented (including their issues) has been discussed below Weather & Weather Forecast Some of which are independent of the original system (externally sourced) and others are part of the original system (internally sourced). The following post discusses the Magic Mirror (MM) modules that have been installed on this system.
